Life on the rocks- seashore ecology

at 11am (SS 425292), finish at approximately 3.00pm

There is a 20 minute walk along to coast path to the site and then a scramble over the pebbles to get to the rocky shore.  It will be wet and slippery underfoot on the seashore so please wear appropriate footwear and bring wet weather gear and lunch.

 The day consists of an introduction to tides and how this affects the animals and seaweed on the shore, a look at the common species and their life histories plus methods used in investigating their distribution. We will also have a chance to talk about how climate change is affecting these rocky shore creatures.
