Our seas are changing!
The impact of climate change on British intertidal species
Presented by Dr Nova Mieszkowska, Research Associate, Marine Biological Association and Fiona Crouch, Shore Thing Project Officer, Marine Life Information Network
Nova gave an extremely interesting account of the work of the MBA, both here in Britain and Europe and worldwide. The amount of work they are carrying out is tremendous, much of it is collecting data so that they can inform on changes in all things marine. An important part of their work is also in communicating it to government and other relevant groups as well as to the public.
Fiona told us about the Shore Thing project and where it will be going in the future. She is hopeful that she may be able to secure more funding but if not, is confident that she has established groups of enthusiastic volunteers who will carry on the survey work
We have re-scheduled the felt making course (scarves and wraps) - this is now on Saturday July 4th -if you would like to book a place please ring us
