Eating

Elegant eating or farmhouse kitchen fayre – the choice is yours when you stay at Hallsannery

With the parquet floor’d Dining Room seating up to 70 for larger events and the ‘hub of the house’ kitchen happily hosting 14 (or more!), there are plenty of options for cooking, eating and entertaining.

The Farmhouse Kitchen

As the adage goes, all the best parties end up in the kitchen… and Hallsannery’s country kitchen is no exception. With the 12ft long table and benches perfect for lingering brunches or simple suppers, the ‘wow factor’ dresser housing all the crockery and cutlery you need, SMEG range cooker and original flagstone flooring, the fully equipped ‘hub of the house’ kitchen offers a characterful space for cooking and informal eating with family and friends.

The Scullery (utility room)

Just off the main kitchen, the scullery provides a super-useful space for prepping, storing and clearing up! With a second dishwasher and sink, a bottle fridge, plate and food warmer, plenty of cupboard space and a stainless steel worktop, rustling up ‘en masse meals’ just became a whole lot easier.

The Dining Room

For a truly splendid dining experience, the Hallsannery dining room ticks all the boxes. Lay up the long table for 22, and add an additional 8 at the mahogany table in the cook’s parlour if required, scatter sparkling wine glasses, flickering candelabras and a host of guests and settle down for an evening of decadence and pleasure. With chandelier lighting, parquet and slate flooring and floor-to-ceiling silk curtains, not to mention an ancestor or two gazing down from the walls, a Hallsannery dining room supper is a very special occasion.

Outside Spaces

If the weather is kind, Hallsannery’s gardens offer the most gorgeous backdrops for outside entertaining and eating. Set up a full-scale picnic on the super-long tables on the terrace and drink in the views over parkland and river. Take coffee and croissants or afternoon tea in any number of spots – the benches in the rose garden overlooking the tennis court and water, the elegant tables perched on the terrace above the front lawn, even the summer house seats are ideal for tea for two! If you fancy a spot of outdoor cooking, the large built-in charcoal barbecue just outside the dining room door is ideal for convivial cooking in the courtyard, before bringing your treats to table – inside or out.

Fully-catered or DIY – the choice is yours

We have some fantastic caterers here at Hallsannery, who will work with you to cater for as much – or as little – of your stay as you wish. From stocking the larder with staples and treats, to ‘in a box’ picnics to take to the beach, from drop off dinners that just need popping in the oven to full fry breakfasts and four (or five!) course evening meals, give Sarah-Jane at West Country Caterers a call and talk through your ideas for making the most of your stay.
